Lasered Ceramic Anilox Rolls and mechanically engraved Aniloxes »

A laser is a unit that produces a high intensity beam of light. This can be focused i.e. the power density increased, to melt materials.
The Anilox laser engraver uses this principle but controls the laser and the position of the beam to produce accurately positioned cells. The fine control of the laser allows for screens up to 375 l/cm and depth down to 4 microns. This has enabled flexo printers to compete in markets that have traditionally been Litho or Gravure.

Our partner TechCell has dedicated machines for small and large rollers. This means each machine can be specialised to achieve maximium efficiency without compromising quality.

NAT Engraving

Tech Cell Limited is the only UK based company to have NAT technology. This is a unique system that allows the laser beam to track the rotation of the roller during engraving and the result is a higher quality cell structure improving the print quality of the screens.

Results from research into the interaction between a laser beam and the surface of the ceramic coated roller show a significant improvement over conventional engraving machines, as all available power is used in the construction of the cell and eliminates the dribble or recast ingress into the neighbouring cells.

Multi Hit Cells

NAT technology gives us a greater control over the laser beam than has been available in previous machines. We are able to multi hit individual cells or skip back to cells after the initial first hit has cooled down. This gives an exceptionally high volume in certain line counts and can be used in coating applications very easily.

Screen Angles and Special Applications

Our ZED Cellmaster is capable of engraving in all the standard printing and coating applications 30º and 45º plus the most commonly used for quality work 60º.

We are also able to produce a wide range of special screens for cold seal applications and Tri-Helical engravings for heavy-duty coatings and glue lay down.

Diamond Engraving Technology »

Introducing TechCell's Breakthrough Diamond Technology

A true innovation in CO2 laser engraved anilox techonolgy Diamond rollers exclusively from Tech Cell offer a smoother cell wall cavity which aid ink release and reduce th plugging effect. The new process acts with chrome oxide coating to melt the ceramic in a way that reduces thermal cracking giving an interior cell cavity that is smooth and a level taht requires little or no polishing.

Effortless Ink Release

The uniform cells created by the Diamond process means ink will release easily. This will increase press efficiency and reduce wash up time. This makes your whole process cleaner and effective.

Save Ink, Save Substrate

Diamond anilox rollers will save you money be reducing ink plugging the cells which will reduce the amount of substrate used in make ready and down time.

Reduce Doctor Blade Wear

The level cell walls on a Diamond roller will reduce wear on the doctor blades. Reduce wear means replacements - another saving in both cost and time.

Clear Visual Inspection

You can tell at a glance a Diamond anilox roller due to it's lighter colour than standard anilox rollers. The increased reflectivity proves useful when checking for plugged cells.

Special Screens for UV Applications »

Developed specifically for the U.V. market these screens are multiburned and channelled at either 30° or 60° to give the optimum in ink release.

Mechanical Mill Engraving »

Traditional Engraving

Traditionally Anilox rollers were produced, using a "mill" or "molette". This mill is manufactured from a master which has been hand engraved.
Our partner Anflex has an extensive range of tooling, some 500 molettes to cover customers requirements.
Laser engraved anilox rollers have taken over many of the mechanically engraved markets.

There is however still a requirement for high quality mechanical engraving. Anflex are still manufacturing new screens daily for this market.

Engineering »

Our partners have always endeavoured to produce a large number of rollers in-house so as to achieve the delivery requirements of its customers. Using these facilities it can also repair and machine existing rollers.

Ceramic Coatings »

Triplex's stable flame

Triplex's more stable flame head leads to better coating quality and higher production efficiences.

Small, sleek, yet powerful, Triplex II

Small, sleek, yet powerful, Triplex II enhances he surfaces of various components.

Sulzer Metco has made a new development in the ceramic coating of anilox rollers with the introduction of a new coating syste.

The Swiss based company have installed this state of the art plasma system in their coating facility in Greater Manchester and the improvement is in a harder denser coating.

This gives an increase in hardness from 1300 Vickers to 1650 Vickers and a lower porosity of the ceramic from 3% in standard plasma spraying equipment to less than 1% with the triplex set up.

The new coating is designed to improve roller life and cell quality due to the improved interaction between the ceramic and the laser beam during the engraving process.

Finishing »

The exact requirements of finish for pre and post laser engraving has meant that TechCell and Anflex have developed the optimum surfaces using a range of finishing techniques.

Inspection »

Our partners employ rigorous inspection procedures at every stage of manufacture to ensure that your roll meets meets the criteria specified by the OEM. When the roll is complete, all the dimensions of the anilox cells are taken. Your roll will then be volume tested, release data and micrograph images are recorded to assure repeatability.

Finally, full inspection reports are completed and forwarded to the customer through GHG.

Quality »

GHG aim to supply to its customers, a product of consistent high quality, meeting all the requirements. It has implemented a quality system to ensure this is achieved.
